The Valencia defender, recovered from a right knee dislocation, made his comeback against FC Barcelona at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys
Mestalla has become synonymous with victory again. In their match gainst Granada CF, Valencia CF claimed their fourth consecutive win at home, following on from recent successes against Villarreal CF, Celta Vigo and Elche CF.
Performing well at Mestalla has been one of the keys to Valencia CF's improvement in this phase of the season. So much so, in fact, that the team remain undefeated at home so far in 2021, having racked up the aforementioned 4 victories and a further 2 draws -against CA Osasuna and Cádiz CF- for a total of 14 points from a possible 18 points.
This good dynamic of results at their home ground has provided a confidence boost that has seen Valencia CF through tough moments. Late goals against Celta Vigo and Villarreal CF demonstrate the faith and desire of the players, whilst against Granada they were able to take the lead and manage the advantage with calm.
The common denominator in these games has been good defensive showings, with 4 goals conceded in 6 games and 9 goals scored. Against Granada CF, the Valencia CF defense barely allowed chances to the Andalusian side until the final stretch of the match.
The next home game for the club is on April 11th, against Real Sociedad. Before that, they meet Cádiz CF once again -only this time on the road.
